19th Regiment of Foot - Yorkshire Regiment

Francis Lutterell's Regiment of Foot.

The regiment was raised from independent companies in Devonshire. Until 1751 it was also known by the names of seven other colonels.
8th March 1689
Thomas Erle raised a regiment and later became colonel of the 19th Foot (1691-1712). He thus claimed the distinction of  owning two regiments. The junior one (also referred to as the 2nd Battalion) was disbanded 1698)
