Barrell's Blues - 4th Foot / The King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment); named after Colonel Barrell who commanded the regiment between 1734 and 1739, and the regiment's blue facings.
Buff Howards, The - 3rd Foot / The Buffs (East Kent Regiment); named after Colonel Howard who commanded the regiment between 1737 and 1749.
Fighting Fifth, The - 5th Foot / Northumberland Fusiliers; from Peninsula times
Governor's Regiment, The - 2nd Foot / Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment); on its formation for service in Tangier
Guise's Geese - 6th Foot / Royal Warwickshire Regiment; named after General John Guise who became colonel of the regiment in 1738
Kirke's Lambs - 2nd Foot / Queen's (Royal West Surrey Regiment); named after Colonel Piercy Kirke who commanded the regiment during the Monmouth Rebellion of 1683
